The solid connection between the two glass layers ensures for higher resistance and torsional stiffness. TÜV tests show that Sonnenstromfabrik Glass/Glass modules can handle loads up to 8.100 Pa.

Outstanding aging protection
Different to glass/foil modules, Glass/Glass modules are resistant to damages resulting from ammonia in agricultural and industrial installations as well as resistant to damages from salt spray in coastal regions or sand abrasion in desert regions.

Unrivalled strength of laminate
Our three chamber lamination process grants our Glass/Glass modules an unrivalled strength. This time-consuming process grants our modules best protection against moisture, delamination and bubble formation. We use only one type of glass on front and backside in order to avoid stress on cells and laminate and use a special encapsulent material that protects our modules against browning.

Low Carbon for more sustainability
We have optimized and audited our production processes to reduce CO2 emissions by 40% compared to German and by 70% compared to China competitors. Within our Low Carbon series we use raw materials only from suppliers with CO2 audited footprint and thus emit 200% less CO2 than average Chinese competitors.

Glass is simply more beautiful
Glass is aesthetic and versatile. As a waterproof roof tile, Glass/Glass modules can be integrated invisibly into roofs. They can be integrated into building facades and enable to control light transmission and shadowing.

Constantly higher performance through better self-cleaning
With Glass/Glass modules, the laminate offers extraordinary stability even without the aluminium frame. Frameless modules are lighter, more aesthetic and benefit from better self-cleaning since there is no more connection point between laminate and frame where dirt can build-up.

Lighter, more translucent, better cooling
Our Glass/Glass modules are lightweight. Furthermore our ultra-thin front glass is more translucent, provides a higher light input and thus more yield. Thinner glass on the front also provides better module cooling and heat dissipation through convection and thereby higher performance.

More safety
Fire tests have shown the unfavourably reaction to fire of the glass/foil modules after 2 - 8 min due to smoke development, flaming droplets emission and flame passage, whereas Glass/Glass modules are non-dripping and showing no passage of fire.
Furthermore there is no risk of electric shock with Glass/Glass modules during installation.
